Babies behaviour sometimes can be no laughing matter, though they do not understand yet the difference between right and wrong. Here are some proven methods on how to discipline a naughty baby.
Discipline is less about correcting behaviour but about teaching your baby skills that help them behave accordingly. The AAP says that” Fear is the motivation of good behaviour, rather than logic, personal responsibility awareness of others and respect for authority.
When can I start to discipline my baby?
You can start building this relation as soon as your baby is born, by breastfeeding them. only when they are hungry. Aso, do give then a diaper change when they are wet. Mothers should only cuddle their babies when they are either crying or upset. And interacting with him or her in meaningful ways.
Though you don’t have to be too strict at this stage only to develop good habits in your baby’s persona. Routines also help your baby to know what to expect. Routines will make your little ones not to fight their sleep time and not to fight their playtime as well when it is over. Disciplinary routines mould your baby’s good character from a tender age. Babies that undergo this phase are not a problem to feed.
Set limits for your baby.
Though you have baby proofed your house, there are some items you need to take particular attention to. Items like remote controls, your mobile phones, laptop, power bank and chargers. Place these in a higher shelf where your baby cannot reach.
As for your kitchen dustbin, make sure it is not a plastic one which your baby can easily empty and dig in.
You can also pay close attention to your baby and destruct him or her whenever he’s about to go on his notorious haunts. And direct him or her to something else to play with or even chew on.
You might also wanna store your shoes out of baby’s reach. Changing your jewellery type would be a wise thing to do as well as wearing hairstyles that do not disturb you when you carrying him.
What must I do when my baby flings food?
During 10 to 18 months babies begin to develop new behavioural changes such as improved memory, understanding and very curious to learn more things.
Babies love flinging food because of their curiosity to see what happens.
Sometimes it is not because they do not want their food anymore but that they are just curious.it interests them to see the food rolling on the floor and so much fun for them to watch.
Many at times, babies are interested in how their mothers react. Particularly after pulling a naughty stunt. Some immediately look at you after throwing the food down and wait for your reaction.when your baby does this, be sure to ignore them and pay no particular attention to them. especially if what there are doing is not harmful .this however, works wonders.
Some babies even throw themselves hard on the ground or even trip and fall. If they look around and see you looking at them, they begin to scream. But if you ignore and act like you did not see them. It will be surprising to see that your baby will continue to move on to something else within their vicinity.
